The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro - Hitting Showroom Floors This Summer!

It’s time to mark your calendars for the arrival of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro coming soon near Romeoville, IL, which hits our showroom floors here at Thomas Toyota later this summer. This commanding truck was built for extreme off-roading, and bundles the productivity of a work truck with the excitement of a weekend adventure vehicle. Prepare yourself, something exciting is just around the corner.

Toyota has been working tirelessly to create a midsize truck that knocks all other trucks built for off-roading out of the park. For starters, the exterior now boasts a wide, higher stance for a more aggressive look. The contrasting black details are sure to turn heads, while the 16-inch black alloy wheels paired with Goodyear® Wrangler Kevlar-enforced tires work to prevent punctures on the most unpredictable of terrain. The projector beam headlights will light up I-55 once the sun sets, the LED Daytime Running Lights shine bright in the sun, and the Rigid Industries® LED fog lights help you see during inclement weather. There’s even the heritage-inspired TOYOTA front grille, and power outside mirrors with turn signals so surrounding vehicles know your next move. And, for the new model year, are three new colors: Cement, Barcelona Red Metallic, and Super White. The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is also only available in the 4x4 Double Cab Short Bed model, which includes a 5 ft. bed.

Under the hood of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro coming soon near Romeoville, IL, will be the 3.5L Atkinson-cycle V6 engine that will produce 278 horsepower and 265 lbs.-ft. of torque, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Towing Package comes standard, and it will include a Class-IV towing receiver hitch, an engine cooler, a 130 amp alternator, Trailer-Sway Control1, and more. Also standard is the Electronically Controlled Locking Rear Differential, which distributes engine power evenly to each of the rear wheels to move them at the same speed for better grip in areas with low traction.  Multi-terrain Select, CRAWL2, Hill Start Assist3, and Active Terrain Control all come standard.

On the inside, the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro boasts supple black leather seats with heating capabilities to fight the long Midwest winter. The 4-way adjustable driver’s seat allows for your own preferred driving position, and even has lumbar support for extra comfort to and from the worksite in traffic. The dash-mounted touchscreen is where you’ll use the Entune® Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation4 and App Suite5. You’ll enjoy turn-by-turn directions to your next off-roading adventure, as well as the ability to stay connected as you use Facebook Places, Pandora®6, and more of your favorite apps. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has Bluetooth®7 hands-free phone and audio controls, the 4.2-inch Multi-Information Display will show you your current MPG, song selection, the outside temperature, and more. There's also the mount for your Go Pro® so you can capture every moment in vivid detail.

In terms of safety, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will come with many standard features. In addition to the backup camera9, you’ll have the Blind Spot Monitor10 to help you change lanes when driving down Independence Boulevard, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert11 will provide an audible alert warning you of approaching vehicles when you back out of your driveway or a parking spot at Menard’s.
